The Fordham White salon was our salon of the month back in May 2006, and the founders impressed us so much that we wanted to tell you their story to show you just how far you can get if you knuckle down to it.
A bit about the boys…
Sean Fordham and Ben White launched this salon in March 2002 after having worked together in other Soho salons. They both have extensive experience in the industry, and it seemed a natural progression for them to go it alone given their talents and celebrity clientele.
Ben White Sean Fordham
Sean had previously managed the James Worrell salon in Camden, London and had been freelancing in and around the city for 15 years in total. He clocked up a rep and high profile client base and spruced models for the London Fashion Week. He has had the pleasure of tending the tresses of Jodie, Jemma and Jack Kidd, and is a favourite with Graham Norton!
Ben had been in the business since he was just 17! He is heavily involved with high profile hair and beauty events, and assists in at the London Fashion Week and MTV Music Awards.
Having been appointed manager at Fish Hairdressing Co. also in Soho he then went on to be an elite stylist and manager at The Lounge, where he met Sean.
Lazy days and creation…
Days spent in The Lounge together led the boys to dream of a salon venture all of their own. So it was here that Fordham White began.
A combination of talents, experience and attitudes meant that Sean and Ben were on to a winning idea. Ben is famed for his modest approach to his talent, while Sean is the clairvoyant and creator: renowned for predicting trends and changes in hair fashion.
Ben was responsible for building their successful team, while Sean took control of the overall creative direction of the salon.
