*City & Guilds has moved the Beauty Therapy make-up competition date back again, to give as many candidates as possible the chance to enter. The final closing date is midday on Wednesday 6th January. The photo shoot will be held at the beginning of February (exact date to be confirmed with the competition winner). 

Wanted: City & Guilds make-up artists!

City & Guilds is producing new editions of its NVQ Beauty Therapy Candidate logbooks. We want one City & Guilds Beauty Therapy candidate qualified at each level (one level 1, one level 2 and one level 3 candidate) to produce the make-up for the front covers of the new logbooks. The winners will have the opportunity to make over a professional model, take part in a photo shoot and list a fantastic experience on their CV! All they need to do to enter the competition is to prepare the following:

• A personal profile. This should include the candidate’s name, age, ambitions, strengths (with examples of their achievements), and details on what makes their entry different. (150 words max.)
• A tutor recommendation. This should be a character reference and overview of the candidate’s skills. (100 words max.)
• Samples of their work. Up to five photos of finished looks that demonstrate good make-up ability. We want to see a range of looks - some might be daytime or night time, some could be everyday looks and some more unusual or quirky. They might want to look at the current Beauty Therapy logbook covers for ideas (below).

Please note: We need to see the photos in colour, so candidates should either send a disc or colour printouts. If there are any problems, please direct them to Rachel Howells at rachel.howells@cityandguilds.com.

The closing date is midday on Wednesday 6th January. The winners will be notified within approximately 7 days of the competition close date and contacted by phone. The photo shoot will be held at the beginning of Feb (date to be confirmed).  Entries will not be returned to candidates.
